Version history and locking

Edit dashboards safely with drafts, published versions, and conflict locking.

Updated May 27, 2026

Dashboards use a draft-and-publish model with version history and edit locking, so changes are deliberate and teammates do not overwrite each other.

Draft and publish

  1. Edit in a draft

Entering edit mode creates a draft. Your changes are not visible to viewers until you publish.

  2. Publish or discard

Publish to make the draft live, or discard unsaved changes to revert to the last published version.

  3. Review version history

Browse previous published versions to see what changed and when.

Edit locking

When someone is editing a dashboard, others see a conflict banner rather than silently overwriting. You can wait, or request to take over editing. This prevents two people from clobbering each other's work.

Existing dashboards keep their current results until a refresh or republish, so publishing structural changes does not retroactively rewrite history.
