Rotating credentials

Update a source's password, key, or token without reconnecting from scratch.

Updated May 27, 2026

When a password, key file, or API token changes, rotate the source's credentials in place. Queringo updates the stored secret and re-tests the connection, so you keep the same source, schema, and history.

Steps

  1. Open the source menu

On the Data sources page, open the menu on the source you want to update and choose Rotate credentials.

  2. Enter the new secret

Provide the new password, key file, or token. Other connection details stay as they are.

  3. Test and save

Queringo re-tests the connection with the new secret before saving. On success, the source keeps working with no other changes.

Rotate on a schedule that matches your security policy. Because rotation keeps the same source, your dashboards, alerts, and saved questions keep working.

When to rotate

  • A teammate with access to the secret leaves.
  • Your provider expires or recommends rotating tokens.
  • You suspect a credential was exposed.
