Top-up packs and overage
What happens when you exceed your monthly token allowance.
If you use more than your plan's monthly token allowance, you can either buy top-up packs in advance or let overage be billed automatically.
Top-up packs
Buy a top-up pack from Billing & usage to add tokens to your balance. Top-ups are consumed before any overage charges apply, so they are a good way to cover a busy month at a known cost.
Overage
If you run out of allowance and top-ups, additional usage is billed as overage at your plan's per-usage rate. Higher plans have lower overage rates. The exact current rates are shown on the billing and pricing pages.
Usage is metered in weighted tokens, so a few High-tier questions use far more allowance than many Low-tier ones. Watch the usage meter if you are close to your limit.
